Another german guy ...

Hello,

my name is Kevin.
I am mostly reading and sharing my stuff on RCtech and just recently discovered this forum by watching a Youtube video of a guy who showed of his heavily tuned Tamiya HotShot.
My father and I got the "virus" in the late 80s, starting with Tamiya ThunderShot and Taiyo Jet Fighter (Tamiya Boomerang copy). Then we went on to run Traxxas Truggies, RC10L, more buggies and touring cars. In 1996 I worked in the holidays to save the money for a RC10T2. After some months I had the money, went to my local hobby shop to order one. It took more than a month until it was delivered to Germany. While building the car I broke the steeringarm/servo saver and had to wait another month to finally run it. As a teenager that was a tough time :( But it was worth the wait. This car was awesome! So smooth and fast. I loved it and still love it. I never sold it, even though the hobby slept until 2009.

Then I rediscovered it and restarted by restoring the RC10T2 with the parts I found at Team Associated. Then I switched to 1/10 touring cars (TC5). Since then the fire burns strong. From the beginning I was doing mods to my chassis: 4-wheel-steering, lay down shocks, and so on. In the last years I started doing conversions to TT02 chassis and building my own fronti chassis.

The Tamiya virus grew over time, giving me satisfaction to build (my) old cars:

With Tamiya rereleasing the old buggies, I want to relive my childhood again. I bought the Terra Scorcher for my dad (no ThunderShot available) and the Boomerang for myself.

Both will be run. I can understand everyone who builds and buys shelfqueens, but cannot resist the urge to run the cars I build.

Well and yesterday evening I heard of a guy called GoMachV and the HotShot chassis he made and thought I could do this for my Boomerang... with a little more reading I learned that he did it already in style. I have still a motivation to do one, but it will look like a copy, so I am unsure right now.

For the time thinking about it, I will enjoy the forum, show off my T2 and vintage buggies :D

Regards!

Welcome Kevin, ditto on the nice builds. What model is the first photo? Looks like front drive.

GoMachV does great work by the way.

Thank you!
The first car is a fwd I designed and build. Hardware, gears, arms and shocks are from Tamiya.
