FERRETTIs LAZER ZX

The original Lazer ZX is another one of those special cars from my history, I raced one in 1990/91 and I remember it with great fondness.

This one's been a while in the making (I've been to busy messing around with RC10s ) , when I received it it was in pretty good shape having only been lightly ran and needing only a couple of things to get it to where it is now including a new body, under tray, wing, decals, wheels and rear shock mount. It could do with a box art motor plate and the usual inhibitively expensive box art tires but to be honest I'm happy enough with how it stands and I probably wont do anything else with it.

Sorry about the picture quality my lighting set up is truly rubbish

Very nice! I like it a lot. I always wanted one of those. I was such a Kyosho homer back in the late 80s and early 90s.

Thank you for the kind comments,

when I started collecting about 18 months ago I had a list of about 10 must have cars all of which I had previously owned ( none of which were RC10s  ) they were the cars that most evoked memories of my child hood and adolescent years, the Lazer ZX was one of them, when I complete one of these projects the feeling of the time come flooding back a bit like when you hear a song that you relate to a particular time, it's a very strange thing. That's given me an idea for a new general topic

VERY NICE!!! If you want to get the car exact to the manual then turn the rear pivot block wishbone holder up the other way around, and then its exact, and the fact that the motor mount isnt the kit one.

Looks as good as the day I had mine in 89, and was used up until 2000. Stunning car, I raced it at three club events and a major race every week for 50 weeks a year and only snapped 2 belts and one wishbone in 11 years. I also changed one set of bearings, even though they were still good enough in 97. The car was built to with stand some serious abuse and its nice to see someone else having one on display to show how good they were.

Yes please HKP that would be great :D :D :D , please PM me with the details.

I will make the change you suggest Kyosho Fan2 but it's also missing the box art tires and a belt cover, however these minor details don't bother me I'm real happy with this car :D

To be honest I chucked the belt cover and the tires as they were rubbish. The car was more efficient with a loose belt. Still you can get the parts, try time tunnels or Ben racing. I did as well replace the two piece top deck which was rubbish, but I see you have got a one piece on, looks very much what I was racing in 89/90. Very nice though, I cannot fault it at all.
