Anyone have a Tekin 410k?
If so, how was it as compared to the 411 and similar Tekin models? I’m looking to get one. Where should I look? Thanks!

This is the least shrewd BST rules shunt I have ever seen!

man - if you're looking to get one, try eBay. that's your best bet. Otherwise please contribute to this forum and when we know you are a good person, you will be granted access to the sales board and you can find one from the good members here - maybe!Lizardking wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 8:34 am If so, how was it as compared to the 411 and similar Tekin models? That ESC is a holy grail for a lot of people. I think you have 3 chances of finding one: Fat, Slim, and None.
But good luck in the hunt.

Re: Anyone have a Tekin 410k?
Yeah, I’m just finding out how special it is. The look is iconic, like the RC10 itself or the Lunchbox. I remember ads in RCCarAction magazine and lusting over it. I was looking for an era-correct (ish) ESC for my RC10 (non stamp super early version with 6 gear transmission) and looked at the different Tekin models and once I saw the keypad I knew that it had to be the 410K.
Regarding the buy/sell section of the site, I was wondering how does one get access to it. I can’t find this ESC on ebay as of now (May 7, 2020) or anywhere for that matter.
Perhaps the best speed controller is the mechanical one it already has. At least its truly era-scpecific.
Great site BTW. You can find me in RC Groups under Lizardking0069 if you want to see my seller buyer ratings.

Lizardking, the section near the bottom of the forum, "How to gain B/S/T Access" has the rules:Lizardking wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 2:33 pm Regarding the buy/sell section of the site, I was wondering how does one get access to it. Re: Anyone have a Tekin 410k?
I found a 'bargain' 410K last year..... when it finally arrived from the UK, the boxed ESC came complete with three blown FETs floating around in the bottom of the box..... and opening it up, it was obvious that this particular unit had been pulled apart many times. I can't confirm (can't find pictures anywhere else), but it looks like one of the pins is broken between the two internal PCBs.... and only four out of seven FETS connected is not confidence-inspiring. To the point where I won't even try to run it, until I can a) get the FETs replaced, and b) see if I need to replace the pin.

Re: Anyone have a Tekin 410k?
I'm not 100% it is a defect.... it just looks like one of the pins is broken. Another PCB is supposed to mount to those pins.... and there is a socket on the upper PCB at the point of the "missing pin" on the lower PCB.Lizardking wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 10:20 pm I honestly don't see a defect, just pins extending past the pcb.
Without seeing the insides of a working ESC, it's a bit hard to confirm either way....

Re: Anyone have a Tekin 410k?
Why don’t you just try using it? Maybe connect a small battery pack and a stock motor? If it doesn’t work just solder a jumper between the pins and try again.
