Hello from Beautiful East Tennessee!
Hello all!
I was big into R/C cars in the late-80's/early-90's. I raced mostly in local oval parking lot series in a mid-engine converted RC-10 and later a BoLink Eliminator 10. I also bashed around with a Lunch Box (converted to a Midnight Pumpkin with a lexan body) and Tamiya Hi-Lux Monster Racer. From the mid-90's till a few years ago, I raced HO slot cars competitively in a local series as well as in regional and national races, where most of my racing success was achieved. My dad was my crew chief, builder, chassis man, spotter, coach, and mentor, looking at the chassis design and modifications he did on my RC-10 30 years later is like taking a trip in a time machine!
I recently found my stuff, however much has been damaged by storage conditions. I've almost got my Lunch Box back running, and looking at getting my Hi-Lux going, with the Hi-Lux possibly getting a transmission transplant. I'm going to clean up the RC-10 chassis and proudly display it, as it was my introduction to organized racing. The BoLink has been in a transporting case, so it should be alright. I learned a lot when racing slot cars, in particular with repairs, soldering, and other techniques that is making my these projects joyful!
I am impressed at the folks who are still playing with what I refer to as our "childhood dream machines". I learned a lot about competition, sportsmanship, chassis setup, and other skills through racing and bashing around. Keep the fire folks!

Welcome aboard!
I agree, post up your "childhood dream machines" here. We'd like to see them.

Re: Hello from Beautiful East Tennessee!
Yes, I have a '73 Cuda 340! It's my baby!
Here is the RC10, it was converted to onroad, mostly raced in parking lot oval series in the Buggy Class with a stock motor. Dad did most of the modifications, this was around 1990-91. I just pulled it from storage, I have more parts that I am going to rescue once I get a chance. I'd like to get this one back together. Here is my Lunch Box converted to a Midnight Pumpkin. New chassis, tires, 3d-printed body mounts, added ball bearings. Plus I completely tore it down, cleaned and polished what was needed. It's almost ready to go!

Welcome Cudaman340. Nice cars. I've got a Midnight Pumpkin as well.
Now for the important stuff, where's the pics of your Cuda 340?
