Hi guys.

I thought it would be fair to set-up a thread for Michael. Since he's a very shy guy that might invite him to share his ideas with you.

First up, here's a short Vitec timeline.

Nice manouver to get us out of your thread

I've use rc10T arms on my ultima to create a real stadium truck. I guess I should be able to to create a Vitec ultima also then.
But then I have to take the ruck down since I have no more spare arms left... guess I'll have to pass
I hope someone is gonna try at least an rc10 vitec remake???

Do you still have that mould or spare bodies Michael?

Awesome cars, I would love more detailed shots and the hand made bits to build one...

The slammed body is tops.

I do remember the Vitec Car back in the magazine back in the days and I have always wanted to build something similar. The main problem back them was the bulkhead in front and the arm mount in the back. If we get more details and info on the project I am in for building one.
I think it is a very cool project.

Have you guys thought that it is probable hard for the guy to give away his creative design?
As a designer I know the feeling of people steeling your ideas and giving you no credit.

This might a concern.
love the car... very cool.

Hey guys!

You constrained me to diggin in my old memorys and to search old pictures!

So I will tell you some old storys and show you some pictures. Unfortunately I own not very much pictures. And unfortunately my english is very poor. Excuse me in advance for that.

Where should I start with my storys? Maybe with the most important car of all.
The latest and last Version of the VITEC-Timeline. After this car I never made a new car.

This car raced only 2 races.

First race: German Championships 2000. Without any testing we jumped into the german A-Main Final. The cars was only 2 days before the race ready. Unfortunately a german Top-Driver (Markus Lübke) was marschalling in tha 3. A-Final. He was running over the track to help another car. He looked not at the track, where our car was driving and steped on the car. The car was broken in 2 pieces and totally wrecked. So our result in the A-Final was no the best.
But we was qualified for the worlds in Pretoria, South Africa for 2001. Then was the 9/11. So the IFMAR decided to make the Worlds one year later in 2002.

The Worlds was okay. We made the C-Final and that was good! The car handle very well! But at that time in Germany was no simillar tracks with all the jumps, what you have in the US. So there was no training for jumping in Germany for my driver Sönke Matz. But he did a great job!

Some weeks later a friend showed me some american RC-magazines with reports from the worlds. And there was a lot pictures of my car there. With body on. Maybe some guys of you have this magazines and can make a scan of this pictures. That would be cool!

Thanks for stepping up Michael, truly a wonderful effort you put in this hobby.

I hope you don't mind we are interested in building from your ideas?
I guess some will try to copy closely for a shelfer, I had thought more of a conceptual copy for a runner myself
If you don't mind I got a couple questions:
Can you give us some clues on the way those tall arms could fit in the 250mm width regulation?
Any chance we can get one of these illusion bodies? (just to pretty not to ask for them)
Those hex shaped hubs: are they a special design or standard yokomo parts of the buggies following after the Works' ?

I have no problem, if somebody wants to copy my design. I only wanted to be on this board undercover, because this is the RC10-Board. Now I have to answer thousends of questions...again.

But no problem. Now I am there to answer all questions for you!

This car based on a Yokomo MX-4 Suspension and a Associated B2-Gear. It was a lot of calculating-work to fit the car to the rules. But there was no problem.

The wheel-hexes was original MX-4. Also the rims. I only had to cut the front rims for normal 2WD wheels.

The body-mold was made by a piece of wood. It taked some trys to fit it perfectly.

After the german Championsips I made a new chassis with a smaller wheelbase. To be honest, the whelbase was extrem long at the first version.

Last year we was testing the car again for fun. But unfortunately the car was broken after a crash at the rear-end of the chassis. So to make a new chassis is too expensive, because the lower chassis-plate had a 25 degree kick-up and the mold is not existing now.

I would love to repro one of your cars, especially the MK-I with 10T white arms, hacking a RC10 graphite should be pretty easy, but then the main problem would be the front and rear shock towers that have to be custom made, rear arm mounts... too bad you don't have any car left :( Do you still own some parts? A close-up of those would be appreciated too! What happened to the chassis mold? Let me guess, someone stepped on it?

Hey Sebastian,

it´s okay, man. One Coffe and one beer next time please!

So, the mold for the lower chassisplate is owned by the carbon-manufacturer. I called him to ask about the mold. But he told me, it´s too much time ago and he left the mold.

One problem is, there are several versions of this cars. And sometimes I installed new parts in the car and other parts i throw away. There are more, than 8 different versions in one car. And I am an idiot that I forgot to make pictures of all versions! I could bite my ass. Haha!

Well, I try to find some of the old parts. And maybe I will find all my drawings somewhere for you. Give me a little time. By the way, at that time I made all drawings on millimetre-paper.

And all parts are hand-made. There is no CNC-part at this cars!

The mold for the body is ready. And I know, where it is! But the body will fit only this car! On other cars it looks very ugly. Trust me!

We can make a deal: You make copys of the chassis and I will give you the mold for the bodies. Haha!

Concerning the handling of this car, I remember at that time, I was driving the latest version on a difficult track conditions and I meant, the handling is okay. After this run I drove a Losi XXX and the handling of the Losi on this track was horrible! Interesting! The long wheelbase and the long suspension-travel was great to drive! But we needed ultra high grip front tires for enough steering.
