Hello everyone. New member here. Been working on automobiles my whole life as a hobby, but after 4 back surgeries I’m changing hobbies. I use to love playing with my uncles rc cars, so now I’m starting it out for myself. He is 5 years from retirement and needs a double knee replacement, and is in pain all the time, so he doesn’t do much rc stuff anymore. He actually gave me his t maxx, e maxx, clod buster, and the holy grail of them all, the A stamped rc10. But, he doesn’t know that I’m actually going to restore the rc10 and give it back to him. Parts are scarce, and expensive from what I’ve been seeing, but I’m going to do this, even if I have to machine the parts at work and buy a 3D printer. Looking forward to learning from all of you! Parts are actually pretty common on Ebay. Other than edinger parts , MIP 4x4 conversion parts .

Hello and welcome to the forums. It's a great act of kindness you're showing toward your uncle - I'm sure he will appreciated it very much.
Yeah, so original parts for RC10 are becoming scarce but they're far from extinct. Actually, from your photo, it doesn't appear that you'll need much to finish the restoration.
I'd recommend that you download a manual, take inventory of what's missing, then go shopping. I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to find what you need.

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate all the help, definitely was able to find most of what I needed, but some of the parts they have listed on eBay I was just baffled by how much they wanted. Not saying they’re not worth what they wanted, just too rich for my blood. When I was researching how to restore this car, I noticed that all the tips were coming from this one forum, even if the thread was from 2011. So I figured I’d join to see who was still left on here and doing work on these cool machines. I did find a ton of awesome material in those manual pdfs. Like right now I have a steering block snapped off, and I ordered new blocks, but need to find a ball stud for it. That’s when I came across a guy wanting 95 bucks for a bag of studs and cups and was like, no way. So I found some Losi 4-40 studs that are .25 long that I’m hoping will work. Looking forward to stripping it down, cleaning everything really well, and doing that hydrogen peroxide bath you guys had mentioned in an older thread. There’s just something about these classic cars that bring a sense of joy that the new ones don’t. Looking forward to sharing the details as I go!
