Le Mans motor restorations

Had a cobra comm lathe, trinity motor machine, and several le mans motors years ago, when brushless came on the scene sold it all off! (never sell your cool shit)
Been miserable ever since. At that time i had a new 480t and 360gold, plus some used ones, never get those back. Been miserable ever since. Anyways i s scored a used Cobra lathe on ebay this weekend for a reasonable price(assuming it works properly when i get it). Also scored a used 360pt, 360st, and very nice 480s. Gonna start collecting all the main lemans units from back in the day and restore them. MCI sells most of the decals, ebay has the brushes and springs....Stay tuned🍺

MCI arent bad, but Ultrahives are flawless. His are cut already and look amazing. MCI are a thin vinyl sticker, Ultrahives are a heavy duty oem appearing sticker on a metallic backing. I just wish he would sell to me.

on the right side of the page there is a toggle that says RC/BMX. If you click that, the RC should come up. https://ultrahive.com/ultrahive/index.php

Got the 360st and 360pt in. Cosmetically the pt is a tick rough but restorable, i tested it before its rebuild, actually ran great. U can tell by the comm it hadnt been run alot so how it got roufh looking is a mistery. Front mounting holes are gonna need retapped too. The st looks almost perfect. It ran great too, but the pt was much smoother (bearings).

We’ll whatever you do don’t rush him, talk about him, or talk to him else you will find yourself on his blacklist like me (and I’ve always recommended him). No soup for you! It’s worth the wait- you will love them. The mci are good but no comparison imo

I realized my 360st decals never came from ULTRAhive from a month ago, so i checked paypal and he refunded that money about a week after i ordered with no explanation why.....so i ordered another set for a 240st to see what happens

Dude from Ultrahive mailed me letter, he said his site was messed uo and didnt know what i ordered...he has fixed it since then and is sending me both 360st and 240st decals for same price! Excellent service. Also said he can print any small decal i might need so keep that in mind if u need something special.

Got this in the mail today

That is after a rebuild minus new decal comin from MCI.

It turned 16,100 rpm, 2 amps as delivered @ 0 degrees timing, @ 6 degrees 18,500rpm

After rebuild (cut comm, new bearings, align brush hoods, new brushes) 17000rpm, 0 degrees timing 1.5amps, @ 6 degrees 20,000 rpm

Very smooth....one of my favorites for sure

Collection so far
