Hello everyone.

I finally found an YZ834 in good condition.

It came with unused vintages tires but not original

Their sides are full of glue and also the rims.

Do you know it I can soak the original yellow rims in acetone vapors to remove the glue ?
i melt 4 Tamiya rims like that in the past and don't want to take any risk on the 834 rims.

This Holly Graal came with no mechanical ESC but with a FWD/Reverse electronic ESC that seems to be a Futaba MC112 (no sticker on it).

Is the 834 mechnical ESC the same than the RC10?

If no what kind of period correct electronics shall I instal like ESC, servos ?

I didn't use acetone on my wheels but found that the super glue/ca had not really bonded to the rims and would chip off fairly easily .
Someone else will have to say for sure but the RC10 mechanical speed controller is very similar and at that time Yokomo and Associated were closely linked , I do know that the yz-834b speed controller was mounted on a very different folded alloy bracket .

I did use Acetone and it worked just fine and didn't have any effect on the nylon wheels. Congrats on the acquisition of your first Yokomo 834B just be careful as they tend to replicate like rabbits.

The original speed controller was similar in concept to the RC10 but looked very different as it was mounted atop a servo and sat on the right rear alongside the gearbox.

You are doing an amazing thing with your printed YZ834 parts!
Have yo planned to produce the yellow servo saver parts? The one which is attached to the servo?

I also own a Works 91 but I feel that the family will probably stop there. I had to sell one of my children to buy it and now the police is after me

What are the period correct ESCs?

I have designed all the steering components but as a solid system not a "servo saver " currently I can make them in yellow ABS but are not strong enough for serious use or in carbon fibre nylon that are strong enough to use , I can get yellow glass fibre reinforced nylon but its £50 a roll and I have no other use for it so ....

Is the Novak T4 period correct?

A Novak 4 is from ‘85. A T4 is from ‘88. I remember this car being released around ‘84-‘85
