RC10 with gear diff

Hello All,
By replacing RC10 stock bulkhead with NIX63231 bulkhead, you'll be able to mount RC10B4 transmission to your RC10 tub or carbon chassis. You don't even need RC10 Stealth transmission holes as this one mounts to stock bulkhead holes and rear holes of classic 6-gear transmission. There's no need to modify your chassis at all which I personally like alot and kept as a guide for this design. You only need to cut away the lower section of the B4 transmission case just under the diff gear. It's easy when using NIX63231 bulkhead as a guide.
What do you think? Do you see all the nice options here... :)

Here is the link to NIX63231:

I see the gear differential option. Actually I have been running B4.1 transmission with gear diff on my RC10 Graphite with modified original bulkhead and on astroturf it proved unbeatable. This makes the swap much easier.

Thats an awesome idea!!

Will the B4.1 box fit so we can run a gear diff??

Yeah... that's B6 gear diff in the last two pictures!

Good job Niki :D As always a well thought out and executed design.

That's dead sexy right there.

Very clever design - very nice!!

It's interesting to see this post today as I've been thinking about how the original Stealth gearbox case design could be modified to accommodate a later 52t diff assembly (either gear or ball). By chance has anyone explored this approach to any degree?
By the way, how do the B4 through B6 diffs actually differ - they're all 52t so does it come down to bearing size -- are the widths and drive cups the same?

I think from B4.1 to B6 gear diff main dimensions stays the same.

Dang what a great way of executing another option for us.

With the first bulkhead (white SLS + ASC9574 case) I removed the lower section of transmission with a Dremel sanding drum. Easy. With the second bulkhead (grey MJF + ASC9826 case) I tried a flat head cutter. Even easier. TomiS will get the SLS bulkhead to his car and I will upgrade mine with the MJF bulkhead. This plan fits in well with the fact that some RC10 Stealth transmission parts seems to be hard to find these days...

NIX63231 + B4.x gearbox + B6 gear diff.
If needed, you can easily shim the gearbox up to get diff gear just above chassis. Or make a small groove to chassis.

I finally managed to strip down my Graphite and mount b4.1 transmission with Niki’s bulkhead. Previously I had it mounted with only two screws at the bottom and wing mounts so now it’s much more secure with two more screws. As I have already modified the chassis I didn’t have to remove any material from the lower section of the transmission case. It sits right on the chassis without any spacers. I’m using b4.1 gear diff but may have to go for b6 diff eventually as outdrives are quite worn out. The car handles very well on astroturf and no need to worry about burning the ball diff.

That's a slick set-up for sure. Excellent adaptation.

OK, I finished the build once again. I’m also using Niki’s rear arm mounts for RPM73282 rear arms, so I’m able to use 12mm hex wheels. I can now use same wheels as with my b6.1 so that’s a big advantage. In my hands this car is 1.5s slower than my b6.1 on our local astroturf track. Best laps are 21.xxx with b6.1 so that is not really too big of a difference. With better setup I hope to get a bit faster still.
