Restored Champion’s Edition

Post by Dumanyu »

After 4-5 months of building I finally got my CE up and running. She’s sporting a brushless/ 2s LiPo and she is quick. Now if I can set her up so she doesn’t blow over at full throttle lol. She currently has a 6-gear transmission but I’ve acquired a Stealth tranny, which I’ll be installing this weekend.

Welcome aboard and thanks for posting pics of your CE. :D
Have you owned the car very long, what was the overall condition and was it a challenge to get up and running?

I had it about 5 months and while it was, for the most part, whole, it was grubby and rusty. I replaced most of the steering assembly, the shocks and had to drill a new place for the camber turnbuckles (also replaced) because the steering was binding. Not insurmountable problems. Added up to date electronics and mounted the body (which was a pain). In truth it was a longer process to restore my Edinger.

Once you have the Stealth installed I think you'll be able to tune its slipper clutch to keep the front wheels planted.

That’s the plan. I’ve also lowered the front of the body shell to keep a little less wind from lifting her. We shall see.
