..tortured.T2...scars.shown.. (now with backstory)..

Post by GAMMACRUSH »

.
.up close. private session.

background: i actually paid a pretty penny for this rc10t2, i wont say how much but lets say i a got mint one buy-it-now for the same price. i got it from a local guy (somewhat) i had to drive give/take 30 miles to meet him. he was uneasy about giving out his phone number so i went down there to the meeting spot and what do you know he doesnt show. i waited for 2 hours past the meeting time, called it a day and went to the Peagasus Hobbies shop instead. the next week we finally met up. this time i DID have his number.

racing history: the guy said that he used to race this truck first at The Ranch pit-stop (home of the 1997 ifmar) then once that closed down, M-N-M hobbies in corona (home of the 1999 ROAR offroad nats) and when that closed down, SO-CAL raceway in Irvine, ca.... when i looked at the bottom of the chassis i had doubts. seeing as those last 2 tracks are CLAY and the scratches look like they are from loose dirt/pavement. (i have another clay track T2 and the bottom is much smoother almost like it was finely buffed down to the alum finish). when i questioned him about the chassis bottom I got the full story, he said... well since those 3 tracks closed he has been going to Revalation Raceway and Pegasus Hobbies. which made more sense to me as those are loose dirt tracks and well.. here she is now... not much of a clay track princess anymore. but i still like her.

extras: he also included a bunch of extras like the manual, THE BOX-which is sooo cool and the only t2 box i have. a mark pavidis paint scheme body, loose front and rear a-arms, nip motor mounting plate, nip motor guard, old rear shock tower, rear bulkhead, 2 sets wheels, a bunch of t2 AND t3 slipper clutches, complete 2nd set of tranny internals, nip tranny case, and a complete 2nd MIP ball bearing steering rack. i thought i was getting just what you see!

end of day: after i got this one i met up with my girlfriend (at the time) and had HER drive us to where we were going, so i could look in the treasure chest of a box he hooked it up with. i was entertained the whole 1 hour trip. freakin sweet day.

this actually looked cool though haha. you guys crack me up.

hmm.. you guys gave me a cool idea...
i want to repaint this chassis a bright color like ie HOT PINK. then spray that over with flat black...
the idea is that when i scratch up the bottom the bright color shows thru. cool idea? i dig it.
