So I finally got my first RC10 from ebay. Excited to get back into this hobby after over 20 years and share it with my kids. From looking at the guides here I think this is quite a late Stealth Build?
Oddly the car itself is slightly different from the instructions, not sure if they were actually for a different model or what.

It’s a later CE, but not very late as they went to black parts at the end.

Starting to clean this thing up. It came with Receiver, Speed controller and Servo, I’ve also bought an old Futaba controller so I hope I can get it all working.

The rear axle mechanism is different to the instructions. Not sure if this was an upgrade or what. Anyway took some pics to make sure I can rebuild it.

Everything stripped off and ready to start cleaning. I’ve found some simple green and goo off as per recs I’ve read here.

If this is a car you plan on using, I would replace all of the bushings with bearings.

Yup, avid rc sells them for a buck each, and also offers kits.

Thanks, yes. I do want to run it. I’ve ordered some bearings from Avid.

I've got the chassis cleaned up pretty well. I used Goo Off to get rid of the residue from tape. The bottom is a little scratched up. I might look into getting it re-anodised, but I want to run this so probably not worth it.

Starting the re-build. I soaked the plastic parts in Simple Green as per advice I read here, then scrubbed them up with soap and water. They have come out pretty well, certainly way better than before. I've read about using Hydrogen Peroxide to whiten them up. Can I get that in a hardware store? What do you actually do?

I used some metal polish on the metal tie rods and bolts etc., they are looking ok but I'm tempted to buy some new hardware in the future. I do have some new screws and nuts on order, but no tie rods / turnbuckles.

A couple of issues I have:

1) I've lost the nylon nut on the steering mechanism - I couldn't find replacements for this. Suggestions for alternatives?
2) I've seen steering upgrades on here but couldn't find one on Amain hobbies. Both arms on the steering mechanism are cracked where they connect over the screws that come up through the chassis.

Factory Works, (GoMachV on this forum) can fix you up with a steering kit that will give you everything you need to fix your missing nut and cracked steering parts.

Yes, if you are interested in an era correct upgrade just let me know. Otherwise sourcing parts from the rere rc10 classic shouldn’t be bad, but parts are drying up a bit

The upgrade from Factory Works consist of a bellcrank set, crossmember (replaces the short turnbuckle), Some screws and washers, steering posts, and instructions. I have this steering kit on multiple RC10's myself.
