So now that I got the cool graphite RC10 Id like to try to protect the chassis a little. Is there some type of CLEAR film I can put on it. It seems to get all kinds of scapes in it :?

Have you looked at any of them on ebay? Clear, different colors, designs, etc. One of my re-re worlds cars came with one that looks like woven carbon fiber.

I don't remember when and where but I recall seeing something about using clear adhesive backed kitchen shelving paper for chassis protector material :?:

I had Mattox 18mil skin on my NIX10M car and it was great. I need to get protector for my Graphite a well and would also like to know how does the AE skin fit as I can get those locally. Mattox would be my first choice but they went up on shipping by 100% so that's really not an option anymore. They have great designs though. http://www.stickersmakeyoufaster.com/

Hmmm, I wondered about that myself. But, I'm too much of a coward to mention it here. haha....
Would that be more economical than 10 bucks for the real stuff? I guess if it works, you could do about a hundred cars per roll.

I have the Team Associated sheet on both my runners,

it is like a thin plastic.

I am very happy with it, and plan to buy more.

I didn't find any clear shelf stuff yesterday, all there was had funky patterns on them... not worthy of a RC10.

Okay, I get it, not cool to have big sunflowers plastered to the bottom of your cool RC10. I used to have a partial roll of this blue marble looking stuff somewhere. If I can find it, I'll give it a try. I think it's vinyl so it won't be as tough as the purpose made stuff. Maybe I'll add a couple layers, lower the car a few mm's and give a really good trial.

If the chassis protector material is not vinyl what is it? Adhesive backed Mylar (polyester film)? Google time!

3m scotch guard clear protective film. You can get it in all different sizes.

Okay I found that roll I mentioned and there is no way this stuff is going to work. The adhesive is really weak like post-it notes; no where near strong enough to hold it to the underside of a moving RC car. I bet it would fall off in less than a lap. Maybe it's just my ancient roll or maybe this is typical for all shelf liner material.
Anyway, this was your idea Nomad; what were you thinking??
