Which modern transmission cover for TRX-1? Answer: RPM B4

Howdy yall

need to get the black widow TRX-1 ready for a vintage meet end-May 8)

I've always ran her in the grassy yard without a transmission cover... but that time it'll be on a dusty/rocky old-school track, hence the need to equip her fragile teeth with a cover to not chew up a spur right away.

Given how many times the TRX-1 transmission componentry has been used across the Traxxas range, there MUST be an easily available, almost-drop-in transmission cover that fits, right? And someone here MUST know about it :D

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Paul

look at this thread where I have a few photos of the rustler gear cover, fits on both blue eagle and trx-1 with some nuts, or small brackets, etc.

Joe, you're a star... so rustler gear cover with some TLC... great!

Need to order one... rpm does some (PN 80522) and they're readily available. Can't wait to try it :)

Thank you 8)

Hi guys,

I wanted to give a quick update about this one.

I got my hands on a Rustler cover, but the "bracket" bit looked a bit odd, really.

I had an RPM B4 cover laying around... a quick blank assembly showed it could work, albeit with a smaller spur than the 87T I had planned.

The bottom hole works just fine... but one needs to drill the motor plate for the top hole, then tap it. But it's a rather easy one, really. And it's as a good a fit as can get :)

Thanks everyone for the help :)
