RC10 Team Car: Questions

Hello,

I recently found my RC10 team car from when I was a kid in a box and had to get it going again. I dropped a brushless system in, a new radio and battery and it ran like it was brand new. I did however blow a rear tire after a few hours so I decided to buy jconcepts 1.7 Hazard wheels and double dees tires. However, I should have done more research as they didn't fit on the team car. Back to the hobby shop and bought the associated rear wheel conversion kit and 2.2 modern wheels and tires. But unfortunately I'm at a loss on how to get the conversion kit installed on the team car. Can someone point me in the right direction, is there directions somewhere that I can follow? The existing roll pin doesn't seem to want to come out either so I can remove the existing dogbone. Any tips and tricks on this would be appreciated also.

Thank you for your help.

You are on your way down a path now. Make sure they got you the right rear wheels for that conversion- should be a 6805. If it's not, the offset will likely be wrong. If so....

Next thing is downgrading to the conversion. I say downgrade because your going from a universal joint to a dogbone. While you could buy the modern version of these, there are problems with them (length is too short, we don't know why). Removing the roll pin is difficult but you can use needle nose pliers or side cutters at an angle to push it thru. Then grab with the cutters and pull it the rest of the way. Really tho, your replacing all that anyway! Just drop the rear outer suspension pin and remove the whole thing. Transfer the ball joints and build the axle using the Worlds manual pic I will try to attach. It will show the cva axles but it's the same idea.

Lastly, you need a pair of dogbones. Part number 6570. Three weeks ago they were everywhere. Now they are getting hard to find. If you can't find any, you might need to upgrade to the cva's. Part number is 6371. They are notoriously short.
