I've been trying to increase my painting skills (or lack of). This is my latest attempt. At five colors, it's the most different paints I've used on one body---2 rattle cans and 3 with airbrush. I saw a 10T online that was similar to this and just loved it so I did my best to reproduce it. Pretty happy with the results. Hope you enjoy the pics.

She's looking good. Jealous. Paint is one area I totally just am not good at.

That's why I use the same 3 colors in roughly thirds on the body and call it a day... haha

The thing that held me back for so long was not wanting to mess up a $30 body experimenting with new techniques. I picked up the idea of using old 2 liter soda bottles for practice. After that, I could try all kinds of things without fear of wasting too much money. Alot of ugly soda bottles went in the trash figuring out what doesn't work.

wow, that's a sweet idea... never even thought of that. I had tried a few effects just on scrap cut-outs, but I'm going to do that...

That looks great!
I hate painting. Most I ever do is 2 colors. My last body was only one color. I almost didn't even mask off the windows

I feel your pain---believe me. I had a nitro Revo for a while and it seemed like I was tearing the bodies apart on that truck every other month. It got to the point wear I was just spaying the body in one shot with no masking and putting those traxxas black window stickers on it. With my vintage cars though, I enjoy the building as much or maybe even more than the driving. I still get a little nervous every time I paint one though. They don't always turn out great. This is my RC12i that I painted last night. It didn't turn out too bad, but it is not what I had in mind. Just knowing that I might be screwing up a hard to find vintage body had my blood pressure a little high. Strategically placed decals are your best friend when a paint job doesn't turn out perfect.

I really like this 10T body. As a truck person I would definitely sport this paint job. Very retro looking, well done.

Thanks. I'm wanting to paint another one for my other T, but I'm searching for a different body. Proline had a nissan hardbody and I believe Dahm's had a cool one. Just a matter of finding one. Even TBG seems limited on their 10T bodies. My other T has a gen 2 chevy s-10 body thats pretty nice but I don't know who made it.

That's some nice paintwork with clean lines. Good job on the shadowing and fading!

I was really happy with the way the 10t paint turned out so I painted my graphite buggy to match.
