Just picked up this old Traxxas Hawk. The guy who sold it to me said he bought it around 1990 and played with it for a few days, got it covered with mud inside and out, and never got around to cleaning it. When I got it, it still had the original mud on it. It was a rtr version and the body was still unpainted with the original window masking still on. It came with the original untouched decal sheets, manual, controller etc. After disassembling and washing everything thoroughly, I painted the body and applied some of the decals. First rc restoration I ever did without having to search for vintage parts! Everything you see is original. Couldn't find many pics of the old Hawks so I thought I'd share. Hope you like the pics.

Thanks. Dish soap, warm water and toothbrushes from the dollar store can work wonders. Leaning over the kitchen sink for an hour sucks but I was happy with the outcome. I kept the paint job simple so as not to deter from the original graphics. I've got so many projects that are sitting around waiting for the right parts to pop up for sale somewhere. It was nice being able to sit down and build a vintage truck and have all the parts from the beginning.

that is very, very cool - I've always loved the Hawk and the Bullet, their nice clean looks have always done it with me. Fantastic find on this one, true time capsule, and the paint job is spot-on late 80's - Love it!

When I look at it, all I can think about, is I'm 13 again with my checkered slip-on vans and my T&C Surf Designs shirt. Oh, the memories
