My 'Faux' Worlds car I put together as kind of an 'all white' version. Updated a bit from the original thread, including the piece de' resistance, the detonator worlds I was lucky enough to obtain from Mr. Jeff Harris, including the matching stand. Thanks!!! This was put together well before the re-re was available, i did add a couple of small parts that were re-released.

Here's my Big Wig
It has a very special value to me:
This is the very first vintage RC car I worked on, starting in '98, when I painted the body first. It is pseudo box-art but with pearl white and metallic blue, and some yellow stripes to match the rollacage. Not my best paintjob to be honest!
Then the chassis went through a few rebuilds in the decade after that as I was painfully collecting parts, and it is now made solely of NOS parts gathered and swapped in the decade or so after that. It sports a new VZ, and the mech speedo still needs to be installed some day. (maybe...)
I painted Larry Lancaster with much patience, being not a patient kinda guy this was almost therapeutic for me
It has basically sat on the shelf like this for the past decade or so... Then Tamiya decided to re-release last week, and for the first time I was pissed at them for re-re'ing something as it took me so long to get this one together.
I was happy to see that this month's contest was open to all brands, because this is the last time on rc10talk you can say you will see a bigwig built for sure only and genuinely from original parts
So I dusted it off with a brush, and here are the pics:

One last comment... Tamiya plastics age really, really badly. As I took the body off for these pics, for the first time in almost a decade, the front bulkheads just cracked where the front body mount lies
just like that... snap! Crazy
Good luck to everyone
Paul

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - February 2017 ** - Winner - Asso_man!
OK here is my entry, tho It's not as good as the others, it is one I'm proud of. I got this NDS Qualifier as a beat up complete rolling chassis. after cleaning it up and locating a used but nice fuel tank, vintage new rear shock tower vintage new OS .15 engine, and I even added a vintage new Transmission (had to due to a lack of the slipper the diff gear and bearings had become 1 piece)(I also added a Aluminum diff gear from robinson and an hg aluminum idler). Shocks were rebuilt using a vintage rebuild kit and I topped it off with a new Vette body which will hopefully be replaced at some time with an appropriate Associated body. Wheels and tires are also vintage new. I don't plan on running her but she's ready to go if the urge ever hits. Almost forgot the sport muffler is also vintage new. Hope you like.

Tamiya Dyna Storm Evo II

The goal of the "project" was to make the Dyna Storm as fast as or a wee bit faster than the AE RC10 Worlds...
I took a lot of effort, but we did succeed! It's not for the faint of heart, and we left no stone unturned. For instance it has a custom made aluminium one piece chassis with built in kick-up.
Have a look at the "Evo 2 version" here (with pics):

And the initial car (mostly stock):
