Kyosho Turbo Ultima Garage Find

I recently picked up a Kyosho Turbo Ultima from a neighbor who was cleaning out his garage. I'm not really much of a vintage RC person but I do realize the car has some value to someone. What would be the best avenue for me to use to either sell or trade this buggy for something more modern? eBay seems like it would probably be the best place to sell it outright but trade offers would be highly unlikely.
Also I realize this question may violate a rule or something so feel free to delete this post if it isn't kosher.

Trades almost never end well. While they are allowed here in the bst area (which you need to gain access to) it's not nearly the audience that you would get on eBay as a sale or on the Facebook groups (where you will likely never receive your trade). Unless your dealing with someone you know, I wouldn't recommend it.

You'll probably get the best return on it by selling on eBay.

I'd agree... to reach the largest audience eBay is probably the best shot. You could try some targeted forms / FB groups and handle the transaction via PayPal. If you're in a good area, you could try the various apps like OfferUp, Craigslist, etc to do a face-to-face transaction.
Ultimately I typically just sell on Ebay for speed/convenience.
A big pro is the "structure" of the transaction using BuyItNow or Auction, the integrated paypal and optional shipping. Of course the con is the 13% you lose (10% ebay + 3% paypal) off the final sale price.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I listed it on eBay to see how it does.

Yeah it's pretty much bone stock. The only upgrade is the futaba esc but it comes with the old mechanical one as well. I wouldn't mind fixing the car up myself but I know that I would eventually modernize everything which would defeat the purpose of using a vintage car as the base platform and also it would be a money pit.

I think if it doesn't sell on eBay for what I'm asking then I'm going to do some sort of resto mod on it. Fit it with a modern brushless motor and esc. Low profile digital servo. Modern wheels. Probably a small lipo battery center mass. Something cool and stupid fast.
Could you fit a short course truck body onto a buggy frame?

Resto-modding it would be the way I would go with it...but that's pretty much the way I go with all my projects.

It ends up being a bit expensive too, though. Your Turbo Ultima would actually be an easier platform to mod than the Optimas I've worked on...I'd have fun with that.

Haha yeah. I almost bought a optima mid off eBay yesterday but I really want a regular optima. I don't like how the bodies fit on the mids to accommodate the motor location. I do like the handling better so I'm torn between form and function. Aesthetically speaking I love the turbo optima body.
I will probably use that body on my ultima if nothing else jumps out at me. That is if it doesn't sell.

I'm currently gathering parts for a "Resto-Mod" of my Turbo. Going to use the new Gold shocks, I have a set of "3K" shock towers, sway bars, Going to use the 64mm CVD axles for drive, The transmission will be all "new". Easiest way to get 48 pitch all around, plus a slipper clutch, with an Optima ball diff. The original tranny is going to get a complete overhaul, and be put in a ZipLoc, have the parts for that too.....
Also using the "new" steering setup ,much better than original.
10.5 brushless with 2s LiPo power.
Will post some pics once I get rolling. Think I'm gonna do my Rampage first
