That's cool! A lot of cool Ultima builds on this site lately.

Where did you get the carbon fiber with the nose kick up?

Home brewed stuff.

Did you just get a carbon fiber sheet and bend it? Did you use something like a heat gun?

you can't bend this stuff. Pretty sure Jerzi makes it from scratch with carbon fiber matting and all the fixings.

You only need very good mold and then it is easy to make kickup chassis.

I would love to see the mold. It looked very professional in the pics.

The mold is 2 carbon plates with correct kickup and i laminate between them.
There is actually an carbon stuff that you can one time heat it up and made an own profile but i have never used it.
Cant say more of it. I think it has to do with the epoxy.

Let me ask a couple more questions. How thick is the chassis? I have a Team Associated graphite transmission brace #6593 and it is 0.1" (2.54mm) thick. How many layers of cloth does it take to achieve that? Have done fiberglass but am new to the carbon fiber.

Thanks

Wow that has to do alot with have heavy the carbon is.
But if you have 300gramms the you can say 4layer/1mm and then 3mm is 12layers.
But ofcourse this has also alot to do what kind of presure youll give it.
So for your question 10layers.

How are you cutting out the carbon? I would love to make some custom parts for my RC cars.

Work looks great by the way.
