RC10 B1.5 #6

Post by scr8p »

Yeah...... I really needed these.

I kind of regretted selling my last new t2 tub awhile back. Recently there have been a few on ebay, along with the motor plates and guards. So I made an offer on a package deal for the 3 main pieces and he accepted it. So, here they are. Not totally sure on a direction for them, but I'm kinda leaning towards a "factory team" version of my first one. Re-ano the parts blue, blue hardware, turnbuckles, carbon towers, 2.2 tires and wheels, etc. I know with the factory team concept I'm moving a little too far away from where a B1.5 could've actually fit in the AE timeline, but I think it'll look kinda cool when done.

Haha...... Yeah right. That would be a seriously expensive endeavor. Plus, I'd have to use a 2.25 stealth in it, and a new rear bulkhead would have to be made.

I think I'll just continue with the "factory team" idea and see how it goes. I also have the tougher to find (or should I expensive to buy) parts like the battery hold down, rear bulkhead and gear cover. Everything else is easy to get/find. Just need more spending money. I'm in no real hurry though, like everything else I build.

A "Factory Team" "might" had used a Fiberglass strap

I just saved you $25

Well, when only 2 of the other 5 are done, it could be too many. I technically have a possible 7th one, but I doubt that one will ever be done. Though it could.

I thought about doing a CF strap. But I'll probably just use the stock one because of holding the cells in place at the back. Unless i come up with something to do it that looks factory.

Not trying to convince you to do a 4wd B1.5 but the T2 trans might be usable. It uses the same idler gear as the 2.25 stealth, and the gear ratio differences can be corrected at the pulleys. I think the stock rear bulkhead can be modified to work too.
