Got bored, and was browsing the net aimlessly. I was on here for a but, looking at that guys gold mid conversion, and I really liked it. Nothing over the top, just a good conversion using mostly stock-ish parts. Soooo, I decided to build my own. I'm not ready for the 4wd stuff yet. So here's where it sits now:









If it works, it'll be a nice companion to the B5M, 30 decades apart.

Looks like it ought to do the job just fine.

I wish I had some pics of one of my old projects, about 2008 I had a RC10 GT2, I'm not a nitro guy, so once the motor started giving me fits, it was taken off. I used a motor mount from a 10L, drilled the chassis for it, mounted a Brushless 5700kv Castle motor, converted to 32 pitch gears and ended up with a mid-motor stadium truck. Nobody else really had anything else like it back then, it got a lot of attention at the track on practice days.

looking good. my friend did basically just that to his team car and it works killer on the track.

Debating on leaving the rear bumper on, as a, well, bumper......or doing something like the small B5M style dealy-bob. Maybe there's a good middle ground bumper I could use? Hmmmm.



I have both a track-ified RC10, and a B5M to make comparisons from. Both the other RC10 and this one started life as trucks, so both are *very* wide. We'll see how it does. Need to wait on a Detonator Worlds lid for it first. It seemed to be the best one for a moved rear shock tower.

could just shorten the rear a bit. nasty tumble or hard hit in the rear and thats alot of leverage to tweak things.

Ok, I'll try shortening it for the time being, maybe to the vent hole bottoms.

i'd cut it off like a graphite motor guard and trim the chassis, then bolt it back on.

Here's the shorty rear, ahem, bumper. Cut and curved.

I got the battery hold down finished. It's two cut down black battery tray holders. The near end has the back cut 75% out to facilitate battery removal.

The front mount for the stabilization brace is a 10T or Nitro triangle part that usually goes to the nose tubes.





I will be replacing the white plastic over the motor with either black or gray, depending on what I find. CF would be sweet, but doubt I'll find that locally.

Would like to find another rear shock tower that has the holes drilled for a wing mount, ala B5M width. I have one on the RC10T buggy, but not sure if I was to pilfer it. I probably will, and stick a standard wing back on.

The RC105M is coming along nicely. I swapped out the crap plastic above the tranny for some more substantial stuff. I also made the brace separate from the rest of the tranny bolts, and it has a nut underneath. I'm quite pleased, as it's been done with 99% of parts I had onhand, and only bought the gray plastic sheet.

In this shot you can better see the truck mounting triangle thing.




We'll see how sturdy it is, I may add another brace and triangle mount.

Sorry, forgot, I also bought some exotek wing mounts and buttons. I already had a wing setup, but always get tired of them becoming loose with the body clips.

Should I call it the RC10-Mid, or RC105M? Maybe RC10-Mid, just so people don't get confused. Maybe I can confuse people, "Nah, it was an option back in the 90's), hehe!

I also swapped my blue shocks over from my other RC10T. They're a lot smoother, and have been to the track already. I'll rebuild that car as a shelfer, and (hopefully) run this one.

Found this bumper thingy in the clearance bin at the track. Not sure what it goes too, but it fit my car perfectly. I also got a second one from the clearance bin, since I assume they won't be carrying any more.

I wish I could find a gear cover that actually fit with my new configuration.
