They have been teasing all week with clear 3d parts car. Upgrade, or a new kit. and we get 2 new kits.

It's crazy that the B5 name only lasted about 2-1/2 years. That's as short as the B2 but even then the B3 was really just an updated B2. The conversion between them was easy. This appears to be an entirely new car(s).

I think the ball diff, rear CVA's and rear hex and shocks will transfer. :-)

I agree. at this time everyone said that AE did not work well, and due to this they had to sell a new car. B2 became B3.
Nowadays, the more you change something, the more people think that you make a hard work to progress.

For me, a good car does not need to be upgraded every year...

I think they needed to do something atleast. The Losi 22 3.0 took a lot from what was learned on the B5m and improved upon it. It's such a good car, I even bought one and I've been a AE guys for over 20yrs. I've owned 2 B5M's and the Factory Lite version, I can say hands down the 22 3.0 is a better car.

But hey, that's how it always was back in the day, the Losi vs. Associated battle!

They're still selling off their B4.2 series, and now there's a B6?

The B6D doesn't look much different than my B5M lite weight edition.

The transition from driving the B4.2 to the B5 was HUGE. The B5M handles SOOoooo much better, and is easier to drive. I can't see the difference from the B5M to the B6 being nearly as much of a change. At least from the B5M to the B6D. Maybe there's some advantage to the B6 with it's laydown tranny and gear diff. I dunno. Well, good thing for my buddy, now B5M prices will drop, cuz everyone always wants the new stuff.

Back in MY day, it was just a bunch of Associated RC10 drivers. Not that much else. Everyone had that car.

I've been strongly considering picking up a 22 3.0. What I find really weird is that when the 22 came out, in mid motor everyone complained that the motor was too far forward. With the 3.0 they moved it back like everyone else and have now just come out with the forward flat version that others are now doing. Which one is it? I'm curious to see the f/r weight balance on the B6. It is my personal opinion based on tire widths that due to tire loading the f/r weight distribution should not exceed 40F/60R, even in high grip.

That's how it was at first when I started racing as well, there was Tamiya cars (basically in novice) and the stock and mod class was all RC10's, that's before Losi even had a car, so yes, I've been around for awhile too.

My understanding is that the laydown version is basically for carpet racing.

LOL, only a matter of time before the 4.2 series becomes the new Thunder Tiger model.

They may be late to the party on that one. If they had changed it when the B5M was introduced, that'd be a different story, but I doubt they want to be 2 models back. The ProLite truck IS a rebadged thunder tiger truck, but it came out at a time where it was still competitive. My buddy loves his, and parts are stupid cheap, being a chinese model and all, so he has stocked up on stuff that he may need in the future.

I'm curious too. I thought the B4.2 RTRs would suddenly go on sale but they haven't. The B5s are beginning to be discounted at some sites. Not easy to see what their plans are. I've been on the prowl to get a B4.2 Lipo RTR cheap just to get the electronics out of it. I guess we'll see.

does this mean that the only rear motor busy they are currently offering is the B4.2 ?

I love mid motor cars, but is rear motor dying?
