Screw using them for gifts. I got on this kick last year around Christmas buying Gift Cards for places I shop at already. I have now purchased a couple $25 Chipotle for $20, $100 iTunes for $80, $200 Lowes for $180, and $100 CVS for $85.

The iTunes one was great because I got rid of cable tv and have HBO Now that auto renews through iTunes every month. So I end up getting that for less than the normal monthly price thanks to the Gift Card.

I hunt eBay and Amazon Gift Card sections. But trying to find them on Amazon kind of sucks. The interface there sucks. They also seem to be kind of lame ones as well.
The eBay one http://goo.gl/ZfJPyR right now has some for Michaels, IHOP, Aeropstale, Papa Johns and a bunch of others. But it does change every day it seems. There was a great deal I missed out on for Cabelas. These are not Joe Bob selling his unused Gift Card he got for Christmas. (apologizes to anyone named Joe Bob) It is companies selling thousands at a time or eBay themselves it looks like for some of the electronic gift cards. So I think there is less worries for fraud. I haven't had a problem yet.

Costco has more and more gift cards, mostly to restaurants, but also movie theaters and a few other things.

Limit of 2 it looks like. I ordered from this company via eBay the Fazolis gift card deal at the same link a few weeks ago. (my wife likes Fazolis) Took about a week by mail to arrive. So if need hotel for Christmas travels order now and save some dollars.
