Here's the deal. I got this chassis a couple years back. It had a mint yellow nose and lime green chassis. Well someone must of wanted it all green. They used probably a whole can of Rustolum in probably 2 coats. As soon as I thought about using chemicals the paint started peeling. What a shame. Anyways I rubbed down the paiint by the stamp and don't see one. Guess now I'm gonna rub that paint off like a gennie and a lamp.

The stamp is very often hidden below the thick powdercoat layer but it should be there. Sometimes you see it better from below.

Going a few more rounds. Yuck. There is an unannodized chasis under there somewhere. Been using Goof Off but at this rate it will be several hundred hours to get clean. Any suggestions?

Lacquer thinner should cut a lot quicker than Goof Off

Carb cleaner should also remove it

2 hours later. I'm going to try the carb cleaner tomorrow. I have inhailed enough fumes for the evening. After I got that far I wiped the chassis down I rinsed it in warm water. The paint became like a rubber and started peeling off. I only used a soft toothbrush and it left little spider scratches. The anno must work like a surface hardener on the aluminum.

Bead blaster with glass beads. Have it done in 10 minutes.

Acetone is my most aggressive paint eater. Often eats any nearby plastic too

If it's powder coat your gonna need a media blaster! If it's paint use Aircraft stripper you can get it at Pep Boys or other automotive places!
