Project lower the Optima

I like to lower my cars. I didn't want to put shorter shocks or springs onto the car.
I made these towers instead.

Im not really happy with the front shock tower as it isn't lower enough. I will remake this at sometime.
They were all hand cut with a jewelers saw I feel that I did a fairly good job of them.
The alloy used is not the same thickness but I wont be using it on the track.
Cheers for looking

Interesting idea, drop the chassis and keep the shocks. Do you adjust the limiters to prevent binding or is this mostly for shelf duty?

Great work so far. That Optima now reminds me of those, so called, "Hongkong buggies".

Unfortunately I don't remember who to credit for this picture.

Thanks for your comments. I feel they look a bit meccano in style. I have been working on another style that has a few more holes and I feel the shape looks more keeping with the original style. The only problem is it looks like a mid on the front end. I will do some cutting and post some pics.
jwscab it will only be a shelf car.

This is my 2nd try. I feel they look better than the first ones.
There is also more adjustment like the Hongkong Buggies but not so over the top.

Interesting, I can appreciate your unique take on the Optima. However, offroad tires just don't seem to make sense with a lowered chassis. And, it won't be complete without a hydraulic system to bounce it around. 8)

I think it looks great with the knobbies. Like 4wd turf "off road" oval somethin' 'er other.
