I picked this up yesterday from a local vintage RC nut some of you may know, Ryan. I traded him some Ten4 parts for it.
Other than the big notch in the side of the pan and the dirt and rust, it's in pretty nice shape. The diff is buttery smooth.
My plans for the car are to first clean it up and get some modern electronics in it, then start using it as a test mule for some upcoming parts I want to develop. I guess I'll trim the sides of the pan down to get rid of that notch, and maybe I'll do a World's style mill job while I'm at it.

Didnt think about it, but you coulda dropped it off with King Restoration Services last night

Tonight I removed all the old electronics and cleaned it up a bit. It really is a pretty nice car, if it just weren't for that big damn "V" cut into the one side... nothing a little time on the mill can't take care of though. I also bought a low profile Sawana servo, an Airtronics receiver, and a Reedy Mach3 8.5T for it today, and I'll use an LRP Flow Works Team I have laying around. I also plan on upgrading the rear to CVAs. Not sure if I'm going to run the gold shocks or some b44 shocks or big bores I have.

Looking at that closer, that is a nice late CE car. Has the gold 'cut' worlds style nose. Have you contemplated just welding the V closed and leaving it full pan sized?

I don't have any way to weld aluminum. Even if i did it would need to be re-anodized or powder coated. I think that was Ryan's plans for it. I did notice the factory cut nose though.

Nice looking test mule and it cleaned up well. To bad you got the "V" but overall nice runner. I never noticed the front nose cut before. What was the purpose for AE do that?

Weight reduction mod that first went into production with the Worlds Car.

Cut the tires off and acetone the beads off, perfectly reusable.

X2...and these 3 pc wheels pictured don't hold a soft tire very well. Might be good for the old hard tires from bitd but todays tires will either rip thru the sidewall or squeeze thru with high powered lipo brushless setups. If you are only using brushed technology yet then they might hold up pretty well.

My CE bead locks hold the RC10 JConcepts tires fine, but like said mine is brushed/lipo.. not brushless

I was told you still need to glue them for brushless power..

That entails time and effort, hehe. I've tried using the super glue remover stuff, with poor results. I hate this nasty messy process. I love the beadlocks on my Traxxas, although I know these RC10 ones won't be nearly as effective.
