hello all, i have exciting news! i BELIEVE i have created the worlds first mid motor traxxas bandit check the pics, it be true. all it takes is a bandit, a dremel, a whole bunch of cutting bits, and some time. (btw check out my amazing hinge made from a body pin and a beetle wrap)

It isn't that it's such a bad project, it's just that I'm not 100% sure this is spot-on regarding the either/or (i) vintage (ii) rc10 focus of this forum Having said that, you could have at least posted pics of your ride here rather than redirecting to rctech...

Other than that... MM are a very specific racing breed. Go race yours and see how it fetches vs. bespoke MM designs!

well the bandit has been around long enough to be vintage and i would love to post the pics here but they are too big, i'll mess around with them to make them the proper size. and as to the track, i need to get my shorty lipo but when i do i have every intention of taking it over to my track (added pics to first post)

I don't know much about bandits, but I'm assuming because the rear a-arm mounts are cast into the gearbox, and since the gearbox is backwards, that you will have a +3• rear toe. Am I right?

Now that you mention it, you can see the molded "L" in in the arm on the right side in the second picture. So yeah it must have 3 degrees of toe out in the rear (if the bandit gearbox/arm mounts are stock at zero) with the 2750's flipped around.

Another option to get around that is to buy the RPM 73615 gearbox and arm mounts kit that are separate as in not one piece. that will let you flip the gearbox and leave the arm mounts in place.

The gearbox kit costs about $20 plus shipping.

as to all of this about toe the rpm arms dont add toe so i just got them

If what the guys are suggesting is true, the problem isn't in the arms, it's in the gearbox. Even arms with zero toe-in will have toe-out when installed on a gearbox that normally adds toe-in, but is installed in reverse. You'd actually need arms that are toed-out just to get zero toe with a reversed gearbox. I can see what the guys are talking about, the rear wheels look like they have some toe-out. It'll drive either way but with zero toe or toe-out on the rear, I imagine the rear end will be rather twitchy and hard to get it to track straight.

a stock bandit has miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles and miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles of understeer. id take a twitchy bandit as about the same chance as getting hit by lighting and winning the lottery at the same time. but with the rpm arms a i said i only have about a half a degree of toe out, which would help things in all honesty. but oh my! the weight savings my bandit pre-mid motored was 4.05 lbs now it is 3.43 pounds! thats .62 lbs by itself by buying a shorty lipo and blasting chunks out of the chassis. add on an integy cf upper deck, and some misc. aluminum hardware and i can see this going into the 3.3's or 3.2's which may be heavy by normal buggy standards but this IS a bandit. the lightest bandit i have seen was jang's ultimate bandit at 2.13 pounds. but that WAS pretty much completely redone with a cf chassis, and graphite chassis, upper deck, and shock towers along with misc. other weight saving mods.
