Jimmy storey oOPle

I'm sure a lot will already know but yesterday we lost a pivotal part of the RC community here in the UK today in the passing of Jimmy Storey.

Im sure a lot of people will only know of him by his site oOPle.com but hid did so much more than just that.

i just want to say a big thankyou to him for what he has done for me and the thousonds of others that enjoy the comunity that he has set up.

You will be missed my firend, God speed Boss.

That is Terrible news, and such a shock for the community. Thoughts and Prayers go out to his Family and Friends. Rest in Peace dude.

This is so so sad. Never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I'm really quite knocked by the news. praying for his Wife and family.

Its a sad day when any loved one dies, but its worse when its someone like Jimmy who had given so much to the entire rc community

Wasn't that one he worked on?

He was a very talented guy and i think it was just all too much in the end and life got on top of him I hate to say :(

I loved that game! Might be a silly question, but what did he actually do for RC? If he wrote / programmed Duke Nukem, I'm already impressed. Sad to hear of anyone passing away

he was Mr oOPle and a very funny guy, every time I spoke to him he made me smile.

the Brits probably know him better in person as oOple organised annual races etc afaik plus the website

yeah in his previous life he was the first Pom hired at Apogee and lived a few years in the States. Was an artist on the Nukem team, supposedly handdrew the exploding fuel drum animation pixel by pixel...

Saddest news in a long time among the RC community. Jimmy was a great creative guy, full of humor and sympathy. I will really miss his reports on oOple! R.I.P. Jimmy, I'll be thinking about you next time I fire up my RC10.
