howdy gang, so a couple of mates got some cars to muck around with an a big empty warehouse here. polished concrete floor etc

I have an old YR4-M2 that i'd love to use against these more modern cars (kits off hobbyking)

i have a old tekin 412 speedy, a reedy Mr? 10d motor (I think I have some reedy sonics as well..need to check.

will that combo in the car handle a 3s lipo? (we have a bunch of them here)

also have an Astro 05 cobalt which I wouldnt mind trying. how far would these be off a modern brushless on 2S?

Howdy :)

412 was 12cells max... more or less equivalent to 3S lipo (12 old cells!) but with a 10double on 3S I still think that might be pushing it a bit. Plus the M2 will be a handful, and the diffs will toast shortly.

Net- a cool experiment, at your own risk

damn....might just get some 2s batteries then :/

put an "unknown" mod motor into my monsterbeetle, that was a blast on the slippery concrete.

any other cars I should look for just stupid fun? bulletproof diffs etc

well remember then M2 was released when the best batteries were 2000's... and we were dumping them in 5mn, barely making runtime even with 12T or 13T motors (HOT mods back then!). And by modern standards these cars were already handling like crap

the power combo you mentionned is at least twice or thrice as powerful as what we ran bitd. Expect thrills indeed, but damage too, like putting a challenger hellcat motor in a neon srt-4 :D

Sakura Xi Sport is a good budget car for the money. Only $80 US and is pretty good quality, plus lots of upgrades available if you want to spec it up. It can handle a 4s lipo and 4 pole 4000kv motor.

It wont accept a brushed motor though.
