Wasn't sure which area to post this in, but figured it might be ok posting it here. I've always been obsessed with Vintage buggies, and mini's / micros. So Here's a project I did as a nod towards the RC10 in roughly 1/18 scale (probably more like 1/15 or 1/16). I have tried to make it appear vintage with details (gold anodised bits, stealth like gear cover, decals etc) and yet be buildable from all off the shelf parts. It has a mini slider graphite chassis, and is largely based around mini t bits, but with plently of MIP and lunsford bits as they are hop ups that were used when I used to run an RC10. Even the chassis has some TQ10 / RC10 graphite feel to it. The body is from the tamtech buggy champ 1/16. Shocks are xray M18T alloy items, thought the gold and green springs also looked a little vintage. Even used a GPM white derlin spur to look vintage. Next project I'm working on is along similar lines, but as a mini Yokomo 870C / YZ10. Please let me know what you think ! Cheers.

I think that's really cool. The other mini-scale buggies I've seen look rather toy-like, plastic ass-tastic, but this one looks functional; all business. After completing my first 1/12-scale car, I can appreciate the small-scale stuff. I love the compactness, they're much easier to display. Now you have me intrigued to build something like that.

Thanks Coelacanth ! The scale really does appeal to me, partly because I can get more of them in my hobby room ! Lol. Building stuff at this scale with good quality carbon and alloy parts I find really satisfying. Thanks for the comment !

Agreed. Looks awesome. It would be cool to see it next to a 1/10th to give it some scale.

Good idea guys and thanks for the feedback ! Sadly I sold my last team car a few years back, but I have a Yokomo Bmax2 I can take it next to. Will post up some pics soon.

Thanks gys and thanks Mr. Ed for the link, yes I was always pretty inspired by the projects with those Japanese TT gear buggies. They must have been challenging as doing a new body for any car is difficult ! There's also some great work they have done with the mini z buggy, one even has an 870c body made for it ! My mini '870c' is going ok, but have hit a few delays. Will post something when it's a bit further along.

Here's some pics of another project I've nearly finished, it's not the mini 870c project I mentioned earlier, but it ended up being a little Yokomo-like, and I was pleased with the result. It's basically an Associated RC18, but narrower with the 18R arms, and Exotek chassis. The body was a really nice find, it's an old discontinued Bud's / BRP body for the RC18T. The wheels are nice as the dish on them looks a little more vintage, and I've added the Yoke-like wheel bolts too. They come from a rare old 1/18 truck from A-Tech. Would appreciate your comments. The main mini 870c project I'm working on is still being slowly developed. Cheers !
