storing cars?

Post by PerKr »

need to find a good, preferrably DIY, storage option for 2 buggies with a bunch of wheels, a couple extra bodies, some random spares and a couple of transmitters. Ideally the top should open into a usable surface for tinkering. Any suggestions? Googling didn't provide me with any good ideas (other than a shelf system but that's not an option now).

And does "storage" imply "displaying"? Could be quite a difference if you're just looking for safe storage as opposed to displaying the goods.

I need to be able to move it around the house. Wouldn't mind if I could manage lifting it into the back of my volvo wagon, but that's not a priority

No need to display the cars when in this storage unit :-)

I guess you could have a look at RC hauler/pit bags to get a more specific idea of what would work for your needs...if by "DIY" you mean constructing something out of wood, I doubt it would be too portable, as it would get quite heavy. Maybe this will give you some ideas, either to purchase or fabricate yourself:
