I have had this sitting on the shelf for a while now and have been collecting missing parts since when I bought it off of Craigslist. Thanks to LTO-Dave and gomachv for helping me out along the way.

I don't have an instruction sheet either so I have been using the scan from LTO-Dave that is posted here to assist with assembly and parts identification.

Here is what was in the box when I got it.

I started assembling the chassis last night, it is looking pretty sweet so far.

Front and rear bulkheads went together with out a hitch. The bearings were a tight fit but I managed to get the top covers on with a little force. Motor mount and center pulleys are installed. Only issue was the front belt was twisted in storage. I hope it straightens out over time.

Top carbon fiber plate is installed with the belt guide/tensioner for the front belt, the rear body mounts and front and rear arms installed as well.

I'm pretty excited to get this completed. I still have additional parts to find but I am really close now.

Hope you like the progress so far. :D

Some more updates on this. I found some stock steering post and drive cups on eBay NIB and have them installed now. I decided to use some New AE turn buckles on this (No. 6262, 1.65"; 6263, 2.06" ; 6264, 1.375"). I wanted to get NIB links but could not find them. I think the AE ones look great ad if later down the road I find the stock ones, I can swap them out. I also stole a dog bone from my Rampage Pro for now until I find a stock Slingshot one.

All that is left to source is shocks, 1 dog bone, and tires. Out of the 4 tires I have only one is in great shape with no cracks. I thought two were good but the rear one when squeezed had cracks. :( It would work for a shelf though.

Great pictures -
Are You going all in on the shocks, or is the sports/plastics good enough ?

Good question. I didn't realize their is a plastic version. I would settle on something to complete this build. :D

Slingshot was full bearing, one way front diff, your wheels, and gold shocks

Lumina was Frp chassis (looked identical), bushings, metal towers, optima mid wheels, gear diff front, and plastic shocks. Well, and a lumina body.

Cyberfox has one in his gallery.... http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=25511

Thanks for the info and link Jeff. The plastic shocks don't look bad at all. I think Cyberfox still has a Lumina body for sale in the BST.

Aren't Slingshot and Optima Mid dogbones the same?

So I have been looking into bodies for this now and the width for this is 240mm front, 241.3mm for the rear. I was scanning ebay and have some options, but I am concerned going with a 10" wide body versus 9.5"? A couple of options out there are the McAllister Lernerville Late Model Dirt Oval body that is 10" wide or going with the Proto-Form or Pro-Line(?) Cyclone 10.0 or 9.5 version. I prefer the look of the Lernerville body, but it does not come with any decals.

I checked with Cyberfox on his the Lumina body F/S but the cost to ship it is killer and looking at it more closely does not have the right look I'm looking for so I passed on it.

Custom Works sells some of their old bodies or you can check at Windtunnel RC for some of the old Bolink late model bodies.

There's also this for sale on Dirtoval.com: http://www.dirtoval.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98458

Thanks for the info Phin! I was just checking out Custom Works and they have a Thunderbird body that is really cool looking and fits the 10" wide chassis. :D

Edit: After digging around on dimensions it is not 10" wide. Some say 9" and other say 9.25"...I will keep looking...
