hello...

Ironically, I was in the process of listing one on epay today when I lost my internet connection. Below is what the 64 pitch conversion looks like.

On the left is the 64 pitch and on the right is the standard 48 pitch. The conversion is also a 2.25:1

Top Shaft: silver steel single until like the original 48 pitch
Middle idler gear: white solid nylon with a steel shaft
Differential gear: white nylon

All of the 64 pitch gears are machined...the stock plastic 48 pitch are molded.

Mine only has the single hole...which was used for the ATC (Associated Torque Control slipper). The second hole in your picture appears to be further...so, I'm guessing that it was probably placed there to allow you to use a spur adapter (without the slipper) or an A&L power clutch.

As far as what it may be worth...who knows???...I was going to list mine with a BIN of $35 (which includes a 64 pitch spur and pinion).

Somewhat related to this topic

what is actually the advantage of using 64 pitch gears in the tranny? I have one too and never used it.

Thorp, definitely. They were the only one's made that I'm aware of.

The finer the pitch of a gear, the less resistance and noise they make. The dirt oval guys LOVED those 64p conversions. When they are spinning fast, they are really quiet, smooth and really quick.

Awesome piece, IMO, but if you are just playing around, building a shelfer or even using a Stealth off road, you really don't need them. They used to pull $40-60 on the resale market, not that long ago, but with the B3 and B4 Stealths designed and manufactured so well, they quickly became unnecessary (look at the gear pitch in a newer B4 tranny).

I've seen solid idlers from Thorp and for MIP diffs. That's not strange, but you don't see them a lot. They were lighter, for sure.
