I started with a M05 4 w/d 4 w/s offroad chassis I did last year. I joined 2 M05 front sections. Converted back to front steering but kept the 4 w/d. Now using 2 Tamiya torqued tuned motors and Tekin fx esc. HPI widened Fuchs wheels w/HPI vintage tires. Shorter front & rear lower control arms, shorter front axles, relocated the front upper shock mounts with adjustable shocks, and few other mods.

The wheel centers look like the were cut out and adapted to the HPI Vintage wheels. The sidewalls front and back side of the wheel are not the same diameter and should be. Here is a picture of the 6mm offset wheel from HPI's page.

I made it into a 2 pc wheel. The rear piece is a aluminum shell that press fits into the back of the hpi wheel. It matches the rear profile of the hpi vintage tire and widens the rim to the width of the tire. Also shaved the area on the front of the hpi wheel right behind the chrome lip so the tire didn't cover the lip. Either way works. Same thing on the front, what a pain. The tires are the 1.6" i.d. ones. Not sure where they get that number, the rear lip of the tire measures just over 2.00" i.d. then down to 1.800" These manufactures sure don't make it easy.

I knew you had to do some major mods to get them to fit. I wanted to use the same combo on my Porsche RSR. I never liked how big the 1.9's looked on it. After I bought a set of the vintage tires I found they were not a direct ft for the rim.

Yes, a lot of work. I also made shorter lower control arms for the front & back. If you look at my m05 rwd & mods post you can use the front control arms on the back for a lot more tire clearance. You would need an extended hex hub to push the wheels out. The rear tires in the photo barely fit inside the hpi mini body.

The front tires don't look like they'll turn inside the wheel-wells.
