Accidental vintage Kyosho checking in..

Hi.

I'm old and new to this hobby. Back in the early 90's my 12 year old self bought and put together a Kyosho Ultima 2 that I just excavated from deep storage.

I never did much with it back then. It's mostly stock except for the worn street tires and motor guard. My Futaba Magnum Sport is in perfect never been dropped condition, and my Hobbico 900 is also in excellent shape. Though my 25 year NiCDs barely hold a charge.

Long story short, all I wanted was new tires. But I soon learned that I'm dealing with a "vintage" car. With the help of a couple of your very knowledgeable members, I was able to find the right front axles and convert this buggy to modern wheels. (New parts are still in transit). I plan to buy a new body and convert it over to ESC sometime in the near future. Maybe more.

I'll post more before and progress pics as it comes along.
Thanks all!

Welcome to the forum, looks like a great candidate for a proper vintage restore! Looking forward to that...there's plenty of vintage RC gurus here to help if you need it. Be sure to create a resto thread in the Kyosho section, we all love to see before/after & progress pics! 8)

Thanks for the welcome. I'll be sure to post some pics in that section as it comes along.
New front axles, wheels, and tires came in today! But no tire glue yet.
