Wondering why the copper springs are so highly prized? Is it performance or rarity or both? Were there both fronts and rears? Were they associated or yokomo brand?

copper springs? they were used by masami(and I guess other team members) for the 91 worlds. since everyone is building replicas, they want those springs. They are probably about the same as other associated springs now...maybe green fronts, blue rears? that's a swag, but they were softer or in between what was available from associated at the time, they worked will on that track.

Yes. I meant copper springs. I've seen rears. Did they make fronts?

I had the instruction sheet that comes with both front and rear shock spring kits from Yokomo translated to try and find out a bit more about them.
Here you go. A bit vague, but better than nothing!

That is great! Im not sure if I need to source the copper fronts or not. The rears do seem pretty soft.

There has been a few sets of fronts pop up on Ebay recently I myself bagged a set and are currently sat in a slowly building parts pile in the garage

Im wondering about the copper springs. 2 of mine yok cars came with the rears, but not fronts. Seems it would be a VERY SOFT overall setup. I can see that on a very long travel car like xx4, but not sure how the 93wcs, 94, and 95 97 models stack up in terms of suspension travel. Also, most yokomo cars ive seen have a 1 way at the layshaft so front end traction is already made a priority. Would be very interesting to run a winning vintage setup on these old cars.
