What is going on there? Did they try to attempt a stealth/low radar signature kind of thing or just for looks?

That's how they hide the new look.

I only live 5 miles from Volvo Cars plant, so this must be the new Volvo XC60. I don't think it's the XC90 because Volvo just release a new version.

I'm not sure what it is supposed to hide? You can see the material thickness in most places, as well as the car's major lines, so photoshopping it into something close to the actual new car shouldn't be too hard...

If they want to hide it, they can better just shoebox it.

No, you see the lines they want you to see. The thickness of those panels is not consistent, they are made to masquerade the lines into different lines. At least in theory.

They could probably market that cladding to corvette owners for parking lot protection of their pampered prizes.

You will have to load a pic of it when it is released, see just how much it disguised it.

When I was at a german consructors site many years ago, they had zebra painted cars around. That was also meant to flatten out the bodylines on spy shots

What :? That car must be hard to sell to next owner. Who wants a car that has all those holes for disguise kit. If there is steel sheets in that body it is going to be a rusty car in nordic climate after some time.

Hey Hcp22!

I think this car is used by Putin to smuggle out the russian crew from that mini sub that the Swedish Navi is "hunting" in the Stockholm archipelago
