Box art cockpit

Hey all, this is first post territory, so go easy on me!

I've recently bought an original RC10 (at this stage don't know what stamp it is, will find out when it arrives) and I want to do the shell as per the box art, as those ads in the 80's really captured my attention, and even now still do.

It looks to me as though the car has an open cockpit, is this right? would it have just been the glass sections cut away or would it be more the whole shebang cut away and then peices of tubing fitted in to give the impression of a roll bar?

This body would of course be just for show, but I am a little worried that if I cut away the 'roll cage' parts the roof may sag over time.

Thoughts?

Greg

Lots of threads to dig through here to answer in great detail. Welcome!

You can cut just the window parts out and add netting or cut the whole roof off and add a cage if you have the talent. Bottom line is its up to you and your abilities! (Or if you know a guy).

Ok, I'm new to the site, so I'm probably going to mess things up for a while!

Thanks for the input:)

Excellent, thanks for that Scr8p!

Incidentally, is the pro-line body (available from the AE website) accurate to the original? I know that the classic had different webbing, but considering I'll be cutting that away, its not an issue for me.
