Ok so last time i had some pics up of my Jrx2 i had the spring cranked down to get the car to move...the slipper was tight, but it still worked, but i had no reverse...The slipper pads were pretty glazed over, so i just threw new pads in the slipper...and still not right. Still slips like crazy. Anyone have ideas? Maybe the backing plates need to be roughed up? At a loss here....the parts were all new when i installed them.

I bet the diff is slipping or melted. When you hold both wheels and spin the spur gear, the nut SHOULD stay stationary. If not, your diff is the problem

Remove the LRM transmission from the chassis and inspect it. You should be able to locate the source of the problem by feel.....if not strip it back to basics and start over but it could be that the diff is just too loose.

Also, check the slipper backing plate to make sure it has fully engaged on the slipper shaft otherwise it might just be spinning without turning the shaft itself. I know you had to widen the hole in the transmission case and it maybe that this is causing the problem.

The pads dont always sit nicely in the grooves of the spur, I like to add a few teeny tiny drops of CA to hold while you assemble. Your dont always need to replace the pads I hold them flat and rub on light sand paper (while glued to spur) Yes I'm cheap
You could try and hold the outdrives and try and spin the spur by hand may help you see something?

If all seems well and good, but you haven't found a source for the problem, I'd suggest disassembling the diff as well. You'll probably do it anyway if you have everything apart, but I know when I've torn LRMs down in the past, the diff will feel fine in my hands, but when disassembled reveals a melted main diff gear. I just tore apart some used pieces that I got in a lot, and found another diff gear with the balls melted right into it.

I haven't had a chance to look at it...Life started back up for me, as I am teacher and I coach High School soccer so it has been crazy. Also was finishing my xx-4 finally, and a new body for my Short course and just picked up an Axial Yeti!! So the Jrx2 is the next in line.
