Going for Gold : My Gold Pan Project Cars

Hello All. I've had an interest in vintage RC10s ever since I remember reading about the worlds and RC10T kits in the magazines as a kid. I figured now is a good time to get into it with the ReRes out. I just traced a TC4 for what you see in the pics, minus the small lot of electronics that came with them. The one car is a full runner but could use some TLC. The other is incomplete but the chassis is in very good shape. It just needs some front end parts and a bunch of screws. I don't know what the stampings are yet since I haven't pulled the motors out. In the electronics lot I have an Associated stock motor, and there is a Yokomo and Kyosho motor installed on the cars. The ESCs are a Novak Rooster and Tekin Rebel, two of the best brushed ESCs that were ever released IMO. There is also a Futaba AM TX with a few receivers and a couple old Futaba ESCs.
I have been thinking of what to do with them. My plan right now is to use the better chassis for a shelfer and to do some mods to the runner. The bottom of the runner shows that it has been used a lot over the years but I have a plan on how to freshen it up. The shelfer I plan to keep as original as possible. I need to figure out how to get the paint off of the jelly bean front wheels and freshen the rubber of the tires. I will need to get some jelly bean rears to match. The steering setup on the runner is horrid and I will be looking for suggestions on how to properly fix it.
On to the pics!!!
