Bellcrank to body clearance: TRX-1

Post by TRX-1-3 »

So,

I don't remember the A&L setup rubbing and raising / bowing out the "driver's side" nose portion of the original (TBG repro in this case) TRX-1 body when making a right turn. But that is what is going on. I know there is a way to remedy this. But it may involve drilling some new servo mount holes and or flip-flopping the bellcrank arm to the inboard side. Anybody got some insight or should I just go back to the stock steering setup? And is there a bb option with the stock setup? Jeez.

Thanks man,

Mark
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Hi Mark

the stock setup rubs the body too. I've had to heat up the lexan to reshape it slightly so it clears.

you can use BB in the stock setup - you need to use FHS screws as steering post and put the bearings directly on them - the inner size of the bearing has to match the screw size (M3 I'd think) then the outer size is the same size as the steering bellcrank inner size. I don't have the dimensions handy, sorry. But I use this setup on my trx runner and so far it's withstand (moderate) abuse :)
