HPI Super F1
Are there any of these floating around amongst the members here?
I am presently working on bringing two of them back to life. I never had an opportunity to race these cars back in the day, but I always thought they were awesome in both appearance and design. The fact that the Super F1 was HPI's first actual kit brings a certain cool factor too.

Re: HPI Super F1
I've got one
It's useful that the front half is compatible with the Tamiya F103 and the back half 1/10th pan cars, and any bodies and wings for the F103 will fit straight on.

Re: HPI Super F1
I had one back when they came out. I've only ever sold off two cars that I've had and that was one of them. The carpet track where I lived closed so I sold my F1 and Bolink pan car. Wish I could have them back! Looking forward to some build pics of yours.

I had one. It was a very cool car but I really wasn't into onroad racing at the time. I've added it to the list of things I shouldn't have sold back then, especially now that I'm really into F1.

I cannot tell for sure, but the picture makes it look like that is one of the fiberglass cars. If it is an "FRP" car and not a "graphite" car, I would love to see some additional pictures of it. It always seemed to me that the graphite kits were far more common, and the limited number of available pictures on the Internet seems to support that as well.

^ LOL!
Speaking of bodies, were can I find some suitable replacement bodies for my two cars? I have been looking on eBay, but the vintage Tamiya body kits all seem to be going for over $100. There are several significantly cheaper bodies listed from a seller in Hong Kong, but something tells me that they are cheaper for a reason. I am also assuming that finding any HPI bodies will be almost impossible.

Do you know if the Kyosho F1 bodies fit? I may have one or two of those sitting around.....ChisaiKuso wrote:^ LOL!

I have an HPI Super F1 also. It is really a trick piece of machinery. I ran mine around a bit and with a mod motor it was blazing fast and the best part is that's it's compatible with some pan car stuff. The tires are all dry cracked but I have a set of Tecnacrafts and new thicker foam tires slated for this car

Re: HPI Super F1
HPI also made chassis parts from graphite without the CF pattern, which this looks like. Their FRP parts all are white on the edges.ChisaiKuso wrote:Nice!terry.sc wrote:I've got one.

Re: HPI Super F1
I have no clue as I built this car more than 10 years ago. I think it's one from a Tamiya F103. I'll take a look and see if there is any molding marks.ChisaiKuso wrote:That F1 car looks sweet, shodog.shodog wrote:I have an HPI Super F1 also. It is really a trick piece of machinery.
