Shodog's Garage Clear Out

I've come to the realization that over the past 6-7 years I haven't been building cars like I’ve wanted to because my garage is an absolute mess to the point where you can't even walk in there. This last weekend which was the hottest it’s been all year, I started unloading it.

Most of the stuff I’ve been building has been done on my dining room table. It’s a PIA to drag all the tools in, do a project then have to clear it all up when I have guests over. I set my workshop up in the garage about 18 years ago when my son was born and I gave up my hobby room in the house. I put some shelving up to display some cars and a workbench. The problem is dust gets all over the cars from grinding and cutting stuff on the bench

Even the table I set up to work on is full of junk also

I’ve been able to shuffle some shelving around

Last night I spent all evening sorting through stuff and putting it away in the appropriate box.

The best part of this is I have found stuff that’s been missing for a long time. Like my solder and flux and my brand new 40watt iron. My goal here is to have a workplace away from the display shelves and enough open space to store my two motorcycles in the garage.

For the most part, it is organized. Most of my parts are in boxes but it was such a mess that I couldn't even access the boxes to put away things.

It's a lot of work. I got a lot done over the two days of the weekend and I thought I would have gotten more done last night but when it was time to come in, it looked like I didn't even make a dent.

If you are talking these on the lower shelf
They are actually R/C bull dozers and an excavator made by new bright. Eventually I would love to make a lowboy trailer for one to be pulled by one of my Tamiya Semi's

I thought Tonka when I saw them too, but now that you mention it, I've got the same set, mine have Tonka stickers on them though. Fun toys, worthless as anything more than eye candy.
Integra, if you want mine, I'd be willing to part with them.

More progress today. Got more things organized. My workbench is all cleaned off.
Once I went to fit my my tool box next to my workbench, I realized I made an error in the positioning of the cabinets in the corner. I need them to overlap the other way so it can all fit. I'll make the change when I scab the shelve out of my shed and move it to the garage

Dude,
I like it. Proof that I am not crazy. My garage looks similar, I feel sorta guilty about it, and I do alotta stuff on my kitchen table. We're normal, man. Cool. Good luck. You may (MAY) have inspired me. I think I have ADHD.
Good times right there,
Mark
