WOIN various questions

Sorry if these have been answered before, I read the whole WOIN tech thread and didn't see

1) Which turnbuckles will work for front and rear? Planning to use dynotech arms (front and rear), a 10T noseplate, and either a worlds or 10T shock tower.

2) Is B44 rear CVA / CVDs the consensus way to go or are there advantages to using B4?

3) Once you have the drives what kind of wheels can you use? Also are these hex convertible / already hex? (sorry such a noob when it comes to modern parts...)

4) Do the standard nose tubes work or do I need 10T nosetubes? I will be using the 10T noseplate and a new Worlds chassis

Thanks very much guys

#1 - I never really measured (please dont use 10T towers, they dont really work on the buggy)

#2 - B44 and B4 are different lengths. If you are using Klein arms, B44 with a spacer is the way to go. If you are lucky enough to have Jake's/Seabass rear arms, they are designed for B4.

#3 - hex is viable, just measure to get the right thickness and pick up your hex wheels (rear), front, redrill the carrier for the B4.2 to fit the RC10 hinge pin (arm to carrier only, carrier to knuckle, leave alone and use the B4.2 pin).

#4 - same as #1

1) there are too many variables in my opinion to say it's these, these, and those. i figure out what ball cups i want to use (since some are longer than others) and use scrap ball cups and turnbuckles, or even threaded rod to setup the car. i'll then measure for the lengths i need and order them.

4) if you run the truck plate in the extended position, just use 10t or gt nose brace tubes. if you want to shorten the wheelbase like the rpm worlds, use the same tubes. but you will have to drill and tap a pair of holes in them towards the front.

Most WOIN cars start off as whatever is in the bottom of the leftover parts bin. Truck nose plates with truck front bulkheads require truck nose brace tubes. I went a different rear end route using stock arms with B4 wheels but I believe dynotech rear arms use B44 rear CVA's with standard rear hubs and B4 wheels.

Pick a car you like in the OIN thread and copy the set up.

Thanks guys! Really helpful.

I think I finally accepted the fact that my RC10T Ebay buy will become a donor car, so I can start the build :)

It's an andy's pro graphite tower, best suited for use on a graphite chassis. It doesn't really work with nose brace tubes.

Ahh shoot. What would be a good option for a classic looking tower that can fit on the rc10t bulkhead with the tubes? I want the front to look like a normal rc10 CE/Team/Worlds.

buy an rpm worlds tower and shorten it. that's about the easiest thing to do. or have one custom made.
