You would think that a kitchen sink should flow easily through 2" pipe.

I cut it all out to the main stack and replaced it with pvc. I should be good now.

Finished it up yesterday, and this morning there was a blockage at the clean outs in the floor while my wife was doing laundry. So it backed up through the drain in the floor. And on top of that, the water in washer had nowhere else to go but all over the floor.

Clean up.... isle 2.

a couple years ago, i had the main 6" pipes jetted to clean them out. but there was really no good way for that pipe to be done. i honestly was expecting to see that when i cut it apart. it only started to drain super slow in the last week. i thought it was just blocked.

but being as though i had to relocate the 1.5" pipe front the sink so i could put up a wall in the laundry room, and a portion of the 2" cast pipe was in the way of the wall as well, i figured i'd just remove it all and replace it.

and it probably would've cost me like $75 every 15 minutes they were here too. did it myself for under $50 and it's all new. that section anyway. :)

Cooking grease. Blocks 'em up over time. About fifty years, in this case, by the look of it.

I would go with that.

i still have to cut the pipe up and get rid of it, and i'm tempted to see what the first half of the pipe looks like. if you go back up to the pic, there's a pipe that comes down in the center. it's actually for a drain that is on my back porch. i have no idea why it was put there. but, to me, it seemed like that's actually where the blockage was. i know the old lady that once lived here did a lot of art related stuff out on the porch, so god knows what she poured down there.
