Peakey's Procat project

I have already got a bit of a thread on oople but I thought I would add one on here too as I know some people here don't venture over there and I wanted to get a whole range of opinions on where I'm going wrong or right.
So here is how it started off when I got it
So after a bit of a strip down and diff rebuild both front and rear (soon to be done again to add a few tweeks)
It's got a MMS front diff with GPM alloy housing and it's got a trinity rear which I'm going to add the pro parts from a bosscat rear diff (alloy outputs and stuff to make my own take on the rear pro diff) then on is going to go a 6mm belt conversion (idea curtesy of Luke)
During the rebuild I added my custom made alloy motor plates
And the new shocks I will be running ( when it finally dose run )
So for know this is how it stands until I get my custom alloy diff hangers and the rest of the parts for the 6mm belt conversion.
I also did want to ask opinion on what slipper to use I can either use the WASP one that's on the car or I have an original Procat one and I will soon have a Bosscat one which do people think will hold up to brushless power.
And what do people think I should go with the custom motor plates I've had made or the rare vintage MMS alloy gearbox that I've found I'm very undecided at the min hmmmm
I took it apart today to clean i say clean it it's new never been fitted

That´s an agressive CAT - that two piece gearbox makes me think of BRNO
Cool stuff.

So I've been hoarding some more parts and I have just got one of the atomic carbon bosscat rear camber adjusters. And I have been looking at the old bosscats and none of the ones I've seen have a rear anti roll bar, so how do people think it will handel without the rear roll bar fitted ?
The reason for this I'm trying to get it ready for the iconic vintage revival next month and I'm not really going to have much time to get it really set up

I'm sure it would be fine without a roll bar... I very rarely run roll bars on any of my cars (on or off road)... the only car that has one permanently fitted is my TeamC TM2 - simply because the track that I normall run on is such high grip its necessary to prevent diffing-out..... that said its not terrible if I take it off
P.S; I forgot about your 'Z' brackets... but I see you've sold them all

Don't worry about that dan I have one in reserve earmarked for a project but if I don't get it it's yours if you want it

Cool! Let me know as & when you know if you need it or not
Its worth noting that 'roll' can be controlled by changing the roll centre - i.e by lifting & lowering the camber links relative to each other. The 'Standard' positions for the rear camber link outlined in the ProCat manual does look like it would promote 'roll' & I wonder if this was the reason why a roll bar was sometimes added? I'm using the BossCat hubs on mine which means that if I use the upper link holes both on the hub & on the inner bracket I would reduce the inclination of the link & hence reduce roll. Roll bars are for me something to use as a last resort when all other settings have been exhausted... or as a quick-fix at the track side.

Thanks dan I'll look into it more when I can rebuild it fully as the parts I'm waiting on aren't going to be ready till mid next week. So I'm hoping to have it all back together and running by next weekend

but well have to see.
What's your thoughts on the revival racing at A1 that's the goal I've set myself to have it up And sorted for.

Ok so I managed to get a bit of time to play with the Procat lastnight and thought that I would make a start on the all new rear trans.
I have fitted my new rear wasp diff with some ceramic balls with new hex washers with alloy out drives and lubed it all up with some B-Fast pro diff lube.
Now all together with the bosscat slipper I will be useing both the slipper and the rear diff have new thrust races too this time lubed up with B-Fast pro thrust lube.
And to help take the power I also found some high torque rear belts
I also got to fit the new 6mm main drive belt

That should help with the reliability
And managed to fit with a little modification my Atomic Carbon new rear shock tower and rear camber link adjuster
So here is the new rear end of my cat hopefully a lot stronger than before now with SX3 wing mounts

WOW! That rear gearbox assembly & those carbon parts look bomb proof! Do you think it weighs any more than say the standard ProCat rear end?
Another question is regarding the bearings that you have fitted in your alloy outdrives - the centre bore looks like they should accept the potruding 'peg' of the standard Schumacher pulley, I'm not sure they are actually doing anything using the Trinity drum?

No there not really doing much other that making up the space. I've got some new ones on order for the front overdrive diff which will need them.

As it stands the new rear end weighs in at 215g and as I've not got the other parts out yet I'm guessing it's a lot heavier

Just sorted my new freshly boiled Bosscat works rear hubs and wishboans, another top quality purchase from daz75 (oople) cheers pal
And used another of Luke's great ideas for the crush spacers
I have been lucky to source all these parts nip. Now I just need to start and strip the Procat so I can use my alloy wishbone pivot bracket to fit all the new backend together.
