Dymond modified motors

I just got a couple of Dymond motors in a lot. The cans are in really good shape, but they are missing the endbells. Does anybody know what the endbells looked like? I think these would look great in one of my rides. Luckly I got the paper work that told me that they are both 18 turn doubles. One is a red label, code 3= sprint, hard brushes, 26,900rpm. The other is a silver label, code 8= sprint, extra hard brushes,26,000rpm.

A standard Yokomo or AYK endbell should be fine I'd imagine. I might have one or two spare if you need.

how many different style endbells are there? Are stock and modified the same diameter? I have a spare endbell that came off a stock motor but did have the screw holes for adj. timing, but was a little to big to sit flush on the can.

There are dozens of different types of endbell in various shapes and materials, with various designs of brush holders on them. They are all more or less interchangeable with each other but the problem is finding the correct style for the motors. It's like bolting truck arms on to an RPM Worlds front end - it will work but you want the proper RPM arms on there.

This is the only picture I have of Dymond motors. Hard to see exactly what thye look like but they are a very square design.

When ya' gonna learn Terry not to take photos of RC stuff on top of your plans for world domination. A couple more pics and we'll have it figured out. :P

That is a very interesting looking motor. Were they made for the sprint cars or are they using the term sprint as a short burst of speed? Do they still make them or are they out of business?

Don't ask me about them, they never made it this side of the pond.

The picture is cropped from an advert in RC Car Action. I only remembered it because I was flicking through the magazine not so long ago.
