So,

Yeah, kinda late. New here. Let's just do the bio thing. Name's Mark. Been an RC junkie on and off since '88. Stupid me wanted a Tyco. The parents hooked me up with a Futaba FX-10, X-mas '88 ( they did some research). I watched my "take charge" older brother (now a LTC in the Marines {go figure [ and Semper Fi ] }) put the thing together with commentary. Had a double stick radio, one Sanyo stick pack, and an MRP (If I recall) dial-a-timer 12v car battery only charger (hey Dad, pop the hood.).

Moved into a Blackfoot right at the cusp of the ground up racing truck era. Sold that and got a TRX-T Eagle. Promptly added the Blue Eagle conversion (the noise from the original 32p external gear tranny was Cah-razy!). Then, BOOM, got a TRX-1 for X-mas '91. Hit the roof. Raced the bajeezus outta that one. Still have it.

Joined the Army in '93 and kinda didn't have time for the RC stuff. Bought a TRX-3 in '94 though. Never really figured the tuning on that thing. Still Have it.

Got out in '96 and around then, bought an AE T3. Smooth. Still have it.

Recently dug out both of the vintage Traxxas rigs and have been dialing them. Live in BFE Oregon (if I can say that here) and don't want to bash them (duh). Really need to get back into racing. Been looking around for a vintage series within driving distance.

Apologies for the sappy nostalgia stuff.

Long post.

Anyway, love this stuff.

Welcome! It sounds like you have great parents, if they bought you a Futaba when you asked for a Tyco.
Can you post up some pictures?
