Universal Battery Box?

does something like this exist? the stock battery hold down system on my hpi rs4 is too small for modern lipos.

I was think of using something like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-10-Battery-Box-Set-for-Li-Po-Battery-EV3022-RC-WillPower-G-V-Model-XTM-EP-/191119927293?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c7fa2a7fd

and just servo taping it to the chassis. but then I realize that the battery needs to be as low to the chassis as possible to clear the belt and top plate the passes above it.

then I saw this:

http://driftmission.com/chassis-workshop/custom-modifications/tamiya-trf-415-ms-h-special-custom/

something like what's being used for that project would be perfect if I knew for a fact if it fit the preexisting holes on the rs4 chassis.

Why not just use a smaller pack? 5,000 mAh is kinda the defacto standard for 1/10 scale, but 2S packs range from 120 mAh packs barely bigger than a postage stamp to monstrous 13,000 mAh batteries. They also come in a variety of dimensional configurations.

Maybe just be looking at some of the 3,000-4,500 mAh packs instead of trying to reconfigure the chassis.

I've definitely been looking at and considering smaller packs. Shorty packs just wont fit. They're not nearly long enough to be contained within the battery hold down. That second one I've considered myself as well. It's closer in size to an old school stick pack which the RS4 was designed around. But I've already got a collection of lipos and I don't really want to shell out the money for a couple more just for a certain car.

I'd rather spend the 15 bucks on a new battery hold down system that can accommodate a larger variety of batteries than the 60 or so for new batteries just for a specific car.

im just being cheap haha

Makes sense, I've just never looked at it that way, since I have to keep packs on hand for 1/24, 1/16, 1/14, 1/10 and 1/8 scale in 2S, 3S and 4S. Got LiPos comin' outta my ears.
